Spanish Wells Cat Roundup 2026
I will be returning to Spanish Wells from Wednesday, April 15th through Sunday, April 26th. I will be staying a few days longer than usual so that we can begin our 2026 Cat Spay and Neuter Project.
We will be available to spay and neuter cats on:
Wednesday, April 15th
Thursday, April 16th
Friday, April 17th
Saturday, April 18th
And again the following week on:
Thursday, April 23rd
Friday, April 24th
Our regular clinics will be held on:
Tuesday, April 21st
Wednesday, April 22nd
Saturday, April 25th
Special Reduced Pricing
For the remainder of this year, we are offering significantly reduced rates:
$79 for cat spays
$49 for cat neuters
These prices include:
FVRCP vaccination
3-year rabies vaccination
We have always maintained very low pricing for spaying and neutering at the Spanish Wells Veterinary Clinic because we recognize that the islandβs feral cat population can only be effectively managed through consistent and widespread spaying and neuteringβnot only of owned cats, but also of community cats who are fed by residents.
For comparison, current prices at private veterinary practices in Nassau typically range from:
$150β$200 for spays (with vaccines)
$95β$135 for neuters (with vaccines)
Support and Donations
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer free services to everyone, as this initiative is not subsidized by any charitable organization.
However, we are accepting donations from concerned animal loversβboth residents and regular visitorsβto help us provide free spay and neuter services to those who cannot afford even the reduced fees.
Free services may also be available to individuals who:
Feed stray or community cats at their homes
Are willing to assist with trapping
Commit to continuing care and feeding after the cats are spayed/neutered and returned
How to Donate
To facilitate donations, we have partnered with the Spanish Wells Town Council, who will accept contributions on behalf of the Cat Roundup.
Donations can be made to the Commonwealth Bank account of the Spanish Wells Fishermanβs Fest, a licensed Bahamian charity (license details attached). The Fisherman's Fest banking details and direct transfer instructions (B$ & US$) are also attached.
Please ensure your donation is clearly marked βCat Roundup.β
Donations may also be given directly to:

Community Responsibility
Cats are a domesticated species and depend on human care for their wellbeing. Even feral cats are ultimately the collective responsibility of the Spanish Wells and Russell Island communities.
Our Cat Roundup clinics will continue on a monthly basis, and three overseas veterinarians have already offered to assist later this year.
With the continued cooperation and support of the community, I am confident that we can make a meaningful and lasting improvement to the Spanish Wells cat problem.
